    Auto Mechanic- is responsible to maintain maintenance on all company vehicles. This position will be Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm. Position will start at $16.00 an hour. 

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains company vehicles for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters and brakes
    • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
    • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
    • Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
    • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
    • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
    • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
    • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
    • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
    • Ensures company vehicles are DOT compliant for the road
    • Responsible for working on insulation blow machines and generators

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 2-3 years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem -solving and repair experience
    • Experience with diesel engines and truck maintenance 
    • Electrical experience with 12 volt as well as 110 volt and 220 volt
    • Must have a Valid Driver’s License and Chauffeur License is a plus
    • Ability to effectively and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment to diagnose and trouble shoot complex equipment problems
    • Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
    • Ability to prioritize work assignments
    • Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
    • Flexibility per work assignments 
    • Experience in welding and working with a torch

     

    Position requires a Drug Test and Motor Vehicle Report to be completed, contingent upon employment.

    Physical Demands

    • The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50lbs assisted or unassisted.

    Work Environment

    • Able to work in a warehouse environment.
