    Responsibilities

    This position is for a candidate who wants to join the growing residential energy efficiency field. A home energy rater performs infiltration testing, blueprint takeoffs, insulation inspections, rating software data entry, attends builder meetings and provides general support to our company. This position is mostly working independently on various new construction jobsites and at home.

     

    *To be qualified as a Home Energy Rater, the candidate has to complete online and in person training related to building science, new and existing home construction, insulation and air­ sealing evaluation, testing equipment operation, and energy modeling software use

    Qualifications

    • Rater Candidate should be qualified to or be able to be trained to: Have good written and oral communication skills
    • Be teachable and adaptable to changes in the industry as they come
    • Pass industry testing regarding building science and rating body of knowledge. Observe all safety requirements of employer or imposed upon the worksite.
    • Move and operate testing fans and gauges (up to 35 pounds). Be able to safely and comfortably climb a ladder up to 10'.
    • Have a relative comfort level with computers, software, various office apps (excel, power point, word).
    • Have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
    • Be responsible to follow online schedules and complete jobs in a timely manner.
    • Attend various trainings and meet continuing education requirements.
