Installed Building Products (IBP) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Analyst to lead the successful execution of projects. The Business Analyst (BA) will assess business processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and drive growth. They will gather business needs, work independently to support projects, and collaborate with the Project Manager and IT partners to ensure accurate project requirements translation.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Elicit current state processes and requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details.
  • Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional and non-functional specifications, including but not limited to business processes, develop GAP analysis, create an inventory of data interfaces, inputs/outputs, develop demo and test scripts as per each individual project requires.
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.
  • Report status and issues to the Project Manager.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some travel may be required (max 20%).

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, UKG)
  • Experience in enterprise-wide projects
  • Experience managing multiple projects with multiple clients
  • Ability to research, formulate, and implement solutions where required.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex processes and draw actionable insights.
  • Organization and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in an atmosphere of ambiguity.

 

Deliverables:

  • Business Requirements constitute a specification of what the business wants. This is usually expressed in terms of broad outcomes the business requires, rather than specific functions the system may perform. Specific design elements are usually outside the scope of this document, although design standards may be referenced.
  • Functional Requirements describe what the system, process, or product/service must do to fulfill the business requirements. Note that the business requirements can often be split sub-business requirements and many functional requirements. These are also called System Requirements.
  • Non-Functional Requirements are requirements that cannot be met by a specific function e.g. performance, scalability, security, and usability requirements. These are often included within the system requirements where applicable.
  • Report Specifications are reporting requirements such as the purpose of the report, justification of the report, report attributes and columns, or runtime parameters.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose and implement improvements to optimize performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings, and obtain feedback.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of business processes, requirements, specifications, and changes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and validation of solutions to ensure they meet the specified requirements and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Training: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption and utilization of new systems and processes.
